About this item
- UNROLL IT FLAT, NOT FOLDED – Ships rolled in a tube and never folded, so there are no fold creases to iron or weigh down. Unroll, smooth the edges, and your table is ready.
- CUSHIONED, WITH A NON-SLIP UNDERSIDE – A cushioned rubber foam layer helps soften tile clatter, and the textured non-slip underside helps keep the mat in place on a smooth table.
- CHARLESTON HELP ON THE TABLE – Edge reminders plus an independent Charleston quick guide card help new players pass with confidence. Not affiliated with any mahjong league; use it with your official yearly card.
- MAKE EVERY GAME NIGHT BEAUTIFUL – Coastal Blue Chinoiserie design with a matching carry bag and shoulder strap, so your mat travels as one set. Arrives in a gift tube.
- WHAT YOU GET – 33 x 33 inch mat for square tables about 34 to 40 inches across, carry bag, guide card, care card and gift tube. Tiles, racks and the yearly card are not included.

Product description
Sound familiar?
The new mat arrived folded. The first game night went to the creases.
We read the public reviews of the mahjong mats hosts buy today, and the same complaint kept coming back. So Host Edition starts with one rule: the mat is never folded.
Host Edition
Make Every Game Night Beautiful.
Picture your friends walking in to a table that is already set: unrolled, matching and ready to play.
Rolled, Never Folded
Planned to ship rolled in a printed gift tube, so there is no factory fold line for tiles to catch on.
Charleston, Right There
Short reminders on the edges and a two-sided quick guide card, so new players check the passing order without stopping the game.
Carry the Set
A matching tube bag with a shoulder strap takes the mat to the club or a friend's house.
Thursday, 6:58 pm. The doorbell rings.
The mat is already down: unrolled an hour ago, corners flat, the blue border framing four racks. Nobody asks you to move a drink or smooth a fold. Someone says, "Your table always looks so pretty," and the first Charleston starts on time.
Cushioned for softer-sounding play
A smooth woven surface over a cushioned rubber foam base helps soften the clack of tiles, and the textured underside helps the mat stay in place on a smooth tabletop.
Folded vs rolled
| A typical folded mat | Host Edition | |
|---|---|---|
| How it ships | Folded into a box | Rolled in a printed gift tube |
| First game night | Fold lines to iron, steam or weigh down | No factory fold: unroll, smooth and play |
| Rules help | Often a full rules print, easy to clutter | Short reminders + separate quick guide card |
| Storage | Folded back into the box | Rolled in a matching carry bag |
Describe Host Edition in 3 words.
Rolled. Matching. Welcoming.
How did you come up with the idea?
We read the public reviews of the mahjong mats people buy today. The same complaint kept coming back: the mat arrived creased. So we started with a mat that is never folded.
What makes it special?
It is a set, not a single mat: the mat, a matching carry bag and a Charleston quick guide card, in one print made for the friend who hosts.

Join the early listWhat mahjong players say about mats today
From our reading of public reviews of other mahjong mats, October 2026. These are not reviews of Host Edition.
The most repeated complaint across the mats we studied. Host Edition ships rolled, never folded.
Players like reminders on the mat. We keep them short and add a separate quick guide card.
Small, but buyers noticed. Before anything is printed, we plan to have our own guide read by native English speakers and an experienced American mahjong player.
Questions
Good to know
Are mahjong tiles included?
No. The set includes the mat, a matching carry bag, a two-sided Charleston quick guide card, a care card and a gift tube. Tiles, racks and the yearly hand card are not included.
Will a 33 x 33 inch mat fit my table?
It is designed for square tables about 34 to 40 inches across. Measure your tabletop first; on smaller tables the edges will hang over.
Why does it ship rolled instead of folded?
Folding is what puts lasting creases in a mat. Every Host Edition mat is planned to ship rolled inside a printed gift tube, never folded, so there is no factory fold line to fight. Store it rolled to keep it that way.
Is the quick guide the official yearly card?
No. It is our own independent Charleston quick guide, not affiliated with any mahjong league. Use it alongside the yearly hand card your group already plays with, and check the official rules for special cases.
When can I buy it, and what will it cost?
Not yet, and we have no launch date. The mat is still in development: samples and player testing come next. The planned price is $44.99 and is confirmed only at launch. Early-list members hear first.
Do I pay anything to join the early list?
No. It is free and only needs your email. We will not sell or rent it. See our privacy note.
