Why Host Edition exists

Built for the Person Who Sets the Table

Picture Thursday at seven. The doorbell rings, someone brings lemon bars, and your table is already set: a soft blue mat unrolled with no factory fold line, its smooth woven top under the tiles, the Charleston reminder waiting in the corner for the friend who is still learning.

Host Edition started with reading. We read public reviews of mahjong mats already on the market, and the same notes kept coming up. Players loved printed rules, tiles that moved smoothly, and pretty colors. What let them down was a mat that arrived folded and would not lie flat, and, on one mat, a spelling mistake printed right on the surface.

So we are designing the mat we kept wishing those reviews described: shipped rolled in a printed gift tube, with a matching carry bag and a two-sided Charleston Quick Guide we write ourselves. It is still in development, with samples and player testing next, so nothing is for sale yet. If you host, we would love your eyes on it.

Questions

Good to know

What is Host Edition?

Host Edition is a small collection of American mahjong accessories for people who host the game at home: a mat, card holders, and a tote set, all in one matching pattern.

Can I buy anything yet?

Not yet. The collection is still in development, with samples and player testing next. Prices on this site are planned estimates. Join the early list and we will email you when the collection is ready.

When will the collection launch?

We do not have a date yet. Samples and player testing come first, and we will only set a date once they meet our standards. Early list members hear first.

Which pattern will come first?

Coastal Blue Chinoiserie is our lead design, with Preppy Stripe and Coastal Blue in the running. Take the quiz above, then join the early list to send your vote.

Do you ship internationally?

We will share shipping details at launch. Join the early list and you will see them as soon as they are set.

Is the Charleston guide official?

No. It is our own independent guide, not affiliated with any mahjong league. Use it alongside the official yearly card your group plays with.
